Is there really a conflict in here or is it just me? – 3/21 presentation

NEW: Slides from this session are now available here.

Please join us for this free community-focused Professional Development event sponsored by the East Side Conflict Resolution Outreach project. The lead presenter for this session is Denise Vecellio who will be joined by special guest Pamela Melick, a Quaker author and Prison Restorative Practices Specialist.

Does the way we interpret facts create conflict where there may not be any?

How does your “normal” affect how you interpret situations? Using the FIDO model (Fact, Interpretations, Decision, Outcome) participants in this workshop will explore the ways that the interpretations we attach to incidents can dramatically affect our actions. We’ll also examine some creative approaches being used to communicate with incarcerated juveniles that opens up new avenues for real communication while reducing unnecessary conflicts.
