This workshop is designed to provide participants with powerful communication and skillful mediation tools which workplace leaders and others can use to help employees in conflict move toward a resolution and engage in working together more productively and harmoniously.
Mismanaged and unmanaged workplace conflict results in under-performance, time wastage, demotivation, lost opportunities, employee replacement, sabotage, restructuring, absenteeism and more workplace management issues. The most troubling consequences are those that become systemic. Some examples include poor quality customer service, hidden agendas, and lack of timely communication and reduced collaboration resulting in employee mistakes, uncommitted employees, increased turnover, reduced morale and lost opportunities.
One of the main reasons that conflict isn’t appropriately addressed sometimes is because of lack of established protocols for resolving workplace conflicts. Managerial mediation is positive workplace conflict management. The aim of managerial mediation is to allow employees to resolve their differences on their own. Although it is a special skill, it is easy to learn. Employing the skill of managerial mediation allows managers and supervisors to help employees engage in conflict to discuss their differences. Further, this workshop will help anyone who is interested in understanding how conflict resolution strategies can be effectively integrated into their workplaces to manage workplace differences.
